Heated glass costs roughly double the plain version and is worth it here for winter mornings and coastal mist. Warm the old glass gently before levering it off — cold, it shatters and you end up picking fragments out of the housing.

With the ignition on, cycle the fold switch three times within about ten seconds, then operate it normally — that re-teaches the end positions on most models. If it does not take, the motor has jammed part-way through its travel and the housing has to come apart. Whatever you do, do not fold the mirror by hand to get it out of the way: on a powered mirror that strips the gear teeth and turns a reset into a replacement.
