Why the Citroen name appears on this site, what it means, and — just as importantly — what it does not mean.

Last updated: August 2026

1. We are independent. Full stop.

Pro Citroen Spares is the Citroen arm of the Sparesboyz Group, an independent parts business trading from Briardene, Durban North since 1988. We are not a franchised Citroen dealership, not an authorised Citroen workshop, and not an agent for anybody.

Automobiles Citroën, Stellantis South Africa and their subsidiaries have no affiliation with this business. They have not endorsed it, they have not approved it, and they have not authorised it to act for them in any capacity. Nothing on this site should be read as suggesting otherwise. If anything here has given you that impression, it was not intended, and we would like to know about it — see section 7.

2. Why the Citroen name is on this site at all

For one reason only: so you can tell which car a part fits. If you need a front wishbone for a 2013 C4, the only sensible way for us to describe that part is to say it fits a 2013 Citroen C4. There is no other practical way to identify it.

That kind of use is specifically permitted. Section 34(2)(c) of the South African Trade Marks Act 194 of 1993 allows a trade mark to be used to indicate the intended purpose of goods — spare parts and accessories are the textbook example the section was written for. The same principle is recognised internationally as nominative fair use.

So when you see "Citroen", "C3", "Berlingo", "HDi", "PureTech", the double-chevron logo or any model designation on this site, it is a reference, not a claim. Those marks remain the property of Automobiles Citroën. We use them descriptively and we do not use them on our own products, packaging or branding.

3. What we actually sell

Our catalogue is a mix, and we will always tell you which one you are getting before you pay:

  • Aftermarket parts — made by independent manufacturers to fit the Citroen range.
  • OEM-compatible parts — often from the same component makers that supply the production line, sold in their own boxes rather than manufacturer-branded packaging.
  • Used and recycled parts — genuine components removed from donor vehicles, inspected before they go out.
  • Genuine manufacturer-branded parts — where we can source them, and where that is what you have asked for.

Every quote we send says which of those four you are being offered. If a quote is not clear on that point, ask us and we will spell it out.

4. No manufacturer warranty is implied

Buying a part from us does not give you a Citroen factory warranty, and we cannot offer one. What you get is our supplier-backed warranty, set out in our terms and conditions, together with a 30-day return window on unopened stock and 14 days on defective parts. Be aware that fitting a non-genuine component to a vehicle still under factory warranty may affect that warranty — that is a question for the manufacturer or the selling dealer, not for us.

5. We supply parts. We do not service cars.

We do not run a workshop, we do not do diagnostics, and we do not fit what we sell. Any fitment guidance we give you over the phone is offered in good faith to help you order the right part, and it is not a substitute for a qualified technician looking at the actual vehicle. Components that need coding, matching or calibration to a specific car — ECUs and body control modules in particular — must be programmed by a suitably equipped workshop after fitting.

6. About the pictures

Photographs and illustrations on this site are there to show you the general type of component being discussed. They are not photographs of the specific item you will be sent, and they are not supplied or approved by the manufacturer. Where a listing shows a particular used part, we will say so and send you actual photographs of that item on request.

7. If you think we have got something wrong

If you are a rights holder, or acting for one, and you believe anything on this site oversteps the identification-only use described above, write to us at sales@sparesboyz.co.za or phone 031 943 9999. Tell us the page and what the problem is. We will acknowledge you within five business days and, where the point is well made, we will fix it — we have no interest in trading off somebody else's name.

8. Governing law

This disclaimer is governed by South African law and should be read alongside our trading terms and our privacy notice. Where this page and any other page on the site appear to conflict on the question of affiliation, this page is the one that counts.

Still need the part?

None of the above changes the simple bit: tell us the model, the year and what you are looking for, and we will go and find it. Trading since 1988 has left us with a supplier network of more than 12,000 contacts.
