Diesel HDi cars complicate this, because the DOC is frequently bolted to — or sold together with — the diesel particulate filter, so establish exactly what a listing covers before paying for it. Petrol cars (C1, C3, Xsara, C5, C4, C3 Aircross) are the simpler case, running a conventional three-way catalyst. Whatever goes on, keep the invoice: platinum, palladium and rhodium make these a standing theft target locally, and proof of purchase is what roadworthy and your insurer will ask for.
