Sparesboyz has traded spares out of Durban since 1988. This is the Citroen side of that business — one marque, a 12,000-strong supplier network, and parts couriered to every province.
Four Decades, One Marque, One Durban Yard
John Hunt and Paul Shannon opened the doors on the Sparesboyz Group in 1988. What started as one Durban counter is now one of the country's longest-running parts operations, and Pro Citroen Spares is the desk within it that focuses purely on this one marque. Our home base is Briardene in Durban North, with a second branch down in Cape Town.
Citroen's story here has been a stop-start one. The brand sold new in South Africa from around 2001, moved roughly 15,000 cars, then pulled out of the market entirely at the end of 2016, only to come back around 2019-2020 under Stellantis. That left a stretch of 2001-to-2016 Citroens on SA roads with almost no franchised backup — precisely the gap an independent specialist exists to fill. Our side of that fills in fast: a supplier book that has grown past 12,000 contacts since 1988, built specifically so a hard-to-find Citroen part usually turns out not to be so hard to find after all.
Our range runs from the compact C3 and C4, up through the family-sized C4 Picasso and C5 Aircross, right down to the workhorse Berlingo, Dispatch and Relay vans — parts for all of them go out to every SA province, no exceptions. Quotes are straight, parts get checked before they leave, and that is simply the standard nearly forty years of repeat customers have held us to.
