Citroen C3 - Right Front Fender

Citroen C3

Fast Moving

Right Front Fender for C3 hatchback

By some margin the most common Citroen on South African roads. The C3 spans the French-built cars sold here before 2016 and the India-built PureTech model that relaunched the brand locally, so suspension bushes, body panels and 1.2 three-cylinder engine parts are our fastest-moving lines.

Citroen DS3 - Right Front Fender

Citroen DS3

Fast Moving

Right Front Fender for DS3 hatchback

Sold as a Citroen here before DS split into its own marque, the DS3 is a premium supermini with a strong following. The 1.6 THP turbo cars in particular keep us busy with timing chain kits, turbo parts and trim pieces that are hard to find new.

Fast Moving

Right Front Fender for C4 Cactus crossover

A 2016 South African Car of the Year finalist that arrived just as Citroen was leaving the market, so the local run was short. Those distinctive ribbed Airbump side panels are the single most requested body part we handle for it.

What Are Right Front Fender?

Two separate parts sit over the front wheel and people routinely conflate them. The fender is the painted steel panel you see from outside, bolted rather than welded to the body. The fender liner is the black plastic or moulded felt arch liner behind it, whose entire job is keeping road spray, mud and grit off the back of that panel. They are replaced independently, and the relationship between them explains most fender rust: once a liner tears or its bolts pull out, dirt packs into the gap and holds moisture against unprotected steel, and the rust works outward from behind the paint.

Signs You Need New Right Front Fender

Dents, creases or rippling from a low-speed knock
Paint bubbling along the bottom edge β€” rust already under the surface
An irregular gap against the bonnet or the front door
The liner loose and slapping against the tyre at speed
Visible perforation when you look behind the wheel arch
Mounting bolts missing, or their threads stripped

Common Questions About Right Front Fender

How much does a Citroen front fender cost in South Africa?

Used fenders start around R700 for a C2, R757 for a C3 and roughly R1,581 for an Xsara through our supplier network, with liners at about R721. Send the paint code with your enquiry and we will look for a painted panel in your colour first β€” that is the version of this job with no spray booth in it, and it typically halves the total.

How long does it take to replace a Citroen front fender?

Two to three hours of workshop time for a straight swap on a C3, Xsara or C5 Aircross once the panel is painted, because it is bolt-on work. If the inner wing or the bumper bracket behind it took damage in the same knock, allow longer β€” we would rather quote on the full picture after seeing photographs than give you a fender price and a surprise later.

Does Citroen warranty cover rust on the fender?

Realistically, no, for almost every Citroen on South African roads. Anti-perforation cover applies only to rust working from the inside out and runs for a limited period from first registration β€” and the bulk of the local fleet is pre-2016, well past it. Rust that started at a stone chip or after an accident was never covered at any age. Source the panel independently and treat the cause.

What is the difference between a fender and a fender liner?

The fender is the painted metal panel forming the outside of the car. The liner is the black plastic or felt shield bolted behind it, inside the arch, separating the panel and the engine bay from everything the tyre throws up. They are separate parts at very different prices, and replacing a fender without replacing a damaged liner simply starts the rust clock again on the new panel.

Can a dented Citroen fender be repaired or does it need replacing?

If the paint is unbroken and the dent has no sharp crease, paintless dent repair pulls it and keeps the factory finish β€” always the best outcome and usually the cheapest. Creased metal, a torn arch lip or any perforation is better replaced. Because used painted fenders are readily available here, replacement often undercuts a new panel plus respray by a wide margin, so ask for both quotes.
