What Are Y-Pipe?
A Y-pipe is the exhaust section where two pipes from the manifold or dual downpipes merge into one, usually ahead of the catalytic converter. On Citroens with dual exhaust manifolds — typically V6 and performance models — we see cracks at the Y-weld and flange leaks causing popping, lost power and exhaust fumes in the cabin.

Can I drive with an exhaust leak at the Y-pipe?

Will a bad Y-pipe cause poor fuel economy on my Citroen?
