Work from the symptom rather than from the parts list. On the C1 the classic cause is corrosion inside the stalk contacts. On newer cars it is more often a blown bulb, a failed LED module or a fuse. The single most useful diagnostic is the hazards: if they still flash but the indicators do not, everything downstream of the stalk is proven good and the stalk or its connector is where the fault is.

Because the hazard button feeds the same lamps through a separate path that bypasses the column stalk entirely. That is deliberate — the hazards need to work in a breakdown even if the stalk circuit has failed. For diagnosis it is a gift: working hazards prove the bulbs, the wiring to each corner and the flasher function are all healthy, which leaves the stalk switch or its plug as the fault.
