The anti-roll bar is a torsion spring in disguise. It runs across the car, connecting the left and right suspension via the drop links, and it does nothing at all when both wheels move together — over a level bump it simply rotates in its mounts. It only resists when one side rises relative to the other, which is exactly what happens as the body leans in a corner.
